Am I the only one in the world that didn't know that Miu Miu's Spring prints are influenced by Biba? Is that widely known?
(look up and check out the second to last pic and then look at the clogs)
Anyways I came across this picture in a Biba book at the Library today and instantly recognized the cat print and the wide collars. I really love this look and I'm not surprised that everyone is obsessed with Miu Miu and the prints.
I remember when I first saw the Spring 2010 collection it took me awhile to adjust to what I was seeing & I was kinda puzzled.... but then I realized, wow, no one has worn that shit for years...bout time, it's supremely beautiful; so chic! I love it. Miuicca is amazing for that.
'Do you wanna Funk' Sylvester album cover 1982
In news this week;
This is DaM Funk.
A Stones Throw recording artist.
He is playing the freshest beats in town.
Went and checked him out on a whim the other weekend at Roxanne and that was the best boogie I had in ages!
He broke out his key guitar in the middle of the crowd!..........I'm just gutted that I couldn't get through and Dam Funk with him! But I was, you couldn't help it.
His tunes are a source of huge inspiration to me right now.
'I am not a retro artist, ok; I'm not...I am somebody continuing the funk'
If your interested you can check out what he has to say and more tunes here.
Photography by me and my trusty tripod and by the help of my man, thanks Denver!
(don't know why by it won't let me write at the bottom of the post today??)
I have so many ideas for photo shoots, I have a notebook full of random sketches with arrows and lists and exclamation marks! Now I have a new camera and tripod it inspires me everyday. It helps me with my designing too because I think that I start to see things from another perspective.
I have used a piece of artwork from Maya Hayuk in my outfit post today.
The shape of this coat is incredible and it fits me like a glove which was so cool to discover as I always find that blazers are way to big in the shoulder for me. I really want to change up the silhouette of what I've been wearing and I think this coat is a good start.
Ok I have to introduce you guys to Annie and her blog Blackk Cross.
She always inspires me with her impeccable style & gorgeous jewelery.... Last time I saw her, we were at the Carhartt party hanging out on the steps and she goes and whips out a bag of amazing jewelery that she just happens to carry round with her...ya know...just in case! You gotta love that.
Annie has been studying fashion here in Melbourne and works at a sterling silver jewelery store at Victoria Market.
This girl has a strong, unique eye for style. The collage of inspirations she posts are pulled from an eclectic range of sources, and she's always on point..... Blackk Cross is most definitely one to watch!
